Experience the Amazon with all five senses! An intense, authentic, and transformative experience.
This is not your average trip. It's an immersion in the Peruvian Amazon, navigating four of its most important rivers, sharing with local communities, exploring the rainforest day and night, observing Amazonian wildlife, and discovering why millions of people dream of visiting this corner of the world. For 3 days and 2 nights, you'll experience a blend of nature, culture, gastronomy, adventure, and community, staying at Amazon View Lodge, a lodge located on the banks of the Amazon River in the community of Barrio Florido. Learn more about the history of Amazon View Lodge (Click here).
Welcome to Iquitos. Our team will meet you at the airport or your hotel to begin this great Amazonian adventure.
Nanay Market and Marina. Our first stop will be one of the most authentic places in the Peruvian Amazon. The Nanay Producers' Market is a meeting point where residents of Amazonian communities arrive daily to sell products brought from different corners of the rainforest. Here you can discover exotic fruits such as aguaje (Mauritia flexuosa), camu camu (Myrciaria dubia), cocona (Solanum sessiliflorum), and cupuaçu (Theobroma grandiflorum). You will also experience some of the most representative flavors of the Amazon, such as Amazonian rhea (Rhynchophorus palmarum), grilled caiman, and tacacho with cecina (dried, salted meat).
Confluence Phenomenon. We will reach the point where the dark waters of the Nanay River meet the waters of the Amazon River. For several meters, both currents flow together without completely mixing, creating a unique natural spectacle.
Navigation on the Amazon River, a Natural Wonder of the World. We will begin our journey along the world's largest and most voluminous river, a true natural highway that connects miles of Amazonian communities.
Don Gilberto Guerra's Monkey Island. We will visit one of the region's most renowned primate rescue projects. Here, we can observe capuchin monkeys (Sapajus apella), titi monkeys (Plecturocebus oenanthe), and woolly monkeys.
Yagua Community. We will learn about the cultural aspects of one of the most representative indigenous groups of the Peruvian Amazon.
First Amazonian Lunch.
Art and Community or Free Afternoon. While gazing at the Amazon River, you can paint a handcrafted piece carved from topa wood, made by Amazonian families, or enjoy this space to relax in our refreshing pool. (You must choose one of the options.)

Sunrise over the Amazon River. (Our guide will repeatedly emphasize the activity's start time the night before; if you are not present at the appointed time, we will assume you preferred to rest and will not disturb you by knocking on your door.)
Search for pink and gray dolphins.
We will navigate areas frequently visited by the Amazon pink river dolphin (*Inia geoffrensis*) and the Amazon gray river dolphin (*Sotalia fluviatilis*).
Birdwatching. During the boat ride, we may spot herons, kingfishers, hawks, cormorants, and many other Amazonian species.

Piranha fishing: Give it a try! Your catch can be part of your lunch.
Yanayacu Expedition and Giant Tree. We will navigate the Yanayacu River, known as the "Forest of Mirrors" due to the stunning reflections formed on its dark waters. We will enter a primary forest for an interpretive hike in search of one of the Amazon's giant trees. Along the way, we may spot sloths, Amazonian monkeys, parrots, birds of prey, and other wildlife in their natural habitat. (This activity is subject to conditions and the seasonal rise and fall of river levels.)
Neyser Sanctuary: We will observe three-toed sloths (*Bradypus variegatus*), green anacondas (*Eunectes murinus*), and capybaras (*Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris*).

Fundo Pedrito: We will observe the *paiche* (or *arapaima*—*Arapaima gigas*), considered one of the largest freshwater fish in the world; we will have the chance to see its massive size and learn about its characteristics and importance within Amazonian ecosystems. We will also see Amazonian caimans (*Caiman crocodilus*) and the impressive *Victoria amazonica*—an aquatic plant boasting the world's largest floating leaves. This spectacular plant is renowned for the enormous circular leaves that float on the water's surface; its size and unique shape make it one of the Amazon's most striking plants.
